Royal Hunt game by Royal Caribbean International
To commemorate its 11th anniversary, Royal Caribbean International has unveiled an island-wide Royal Hunt game in Singapore running till 20 March 2018, with prizes worth over $345,000 including a 7-night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona on Symphony of the Seas.
When asked about the inspiration behind this innovative campaign, Nicole Lai, Head of Marketing, Royal Caribbean, said that the idea stemmed from an Easter Egg Hunt concept. Royal Caribbean hopes to celebrate the spirit of sharing and show gratitude to their customers by offering attractive prizes in view of their kind support all these years. Nicole Lai added that in order to roll out the game island-wide, they came up with the idea of a mobile app that was inspired by Pokémon Go, which leverages technology and social media.
Game rules and instructions
The search has begun for six Golden Anchors located at 20 designated MRT stations. Simply follow these 7 steps:
- Download the Royal Hunt app from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
- Activate the app and an e-map will appear, showing the locations of 20 MRT stations — Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bugis, Buona Vista, Chinatown, Choa Chu Kang, City Hall, Dhoby Ghaut, Harbourfront, Jurong East, MacPherson, Punggol, Tampines, Tanjong Pagar, Raffles Place, Serangoon, Stadium, Tiong Bahru, Toa Payoh and Woodlands.
- Select any of these 20 MRT stations indicated on the e-map and head down to the MRT station to find the Royal Hunt ad panel.
- Spot the special QR code embedded within the ad panel and scan it with the app to reveal the Golden Anchor.
- Drop the anchor onto each tile on the scorecard and proceed to subsequent MRT stations to collect the other five Golden Anchors.
- For the sixth and final Anchor, a specific MRT station will be assigned by the app. Depending on your luck, you may have to travel to the far end of Tampines or Jurong East to hunt for the last Anchor.
- After collecting all six Golden Anchors, you would have completed the scorecard and stand a chance to win the top prize.

Besides the top prize of a 7-night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona on Symphony of the Seas, the first 3,000 to bag the first Golden Anchor and the first 3,000 to bag the third one will receive F&B vouchers. Whereas, the first 5,000 to complete all six Anchors will receive $50 Royal Caribbean cruise vouchers.
For the finale event, 300 out of these 5,000 players will be presented with a limited edition 24K gold-plated Royal Caribbean medallion worth $168. These 300 players will be selected at the NATAS Fair on 24 March. There will also be a live Grand Draw where one lucky winner will be chosen for the top prize of the 7-night cruise on Symphony of the Seas and nine lucky winners will get to walk away with a 4-night Southeast Asian cruise on Voyager of the Seas.

Nicole also gave us a sneak peek of the highlights onboard Symphony of the Seas which is slated to open in April this year. She revealed that the ultimate family suite will be a “fun private playground that comes with a 3D private cinema and air hockey table,” and added that Royal Carribean will also be “bringing in one of the best Broadway hits, Hairspray, and exciting entertainment choices such as laser tag games.”
