A world expo of innovation and collaboration

The Expo is more than just an exhibition; it’s a global platform that brings together countries, regions, and organisations to address pressing issues facing humanity.

This futurist exhibition will see participation from over 160 countries – including China, Italy, Austria, Germany, Canada and Singapore – and international organisations, each presenting its unique vision of the future. The event aims to foster international collaboration on an unprecedented scale, with an estimated 28.2 million visitors, showcasing cutting-edge innovations and solutions that could shape the world for years to come. Moreover, these efforts aim to celebrate the diversity that characterises our modern world.

Tokura Masakazu, Chairperson of Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, said “The Grand Ring is an architectural symbol of the Expo site’s concept of Unity in Diversity.”

Participating countries will showcase their pavilions, which are a blend of traditional keepsakes and futuristic designs, offering visitors unique visions of the future. Visitors can explore these pavilions and experience the future firsthand. This aligns with the event’s core concept of a “People’s Living Lab” for a future society. For instance, Singapore will be showcasing their pavilion, “The Dream Sphere,” with its design seemingly paying a heartfelt homage to its popular nickname as the “Little Red Dot.”

A spokesperson from the Singapore Tourism Board said “The Singapore Pavilion will showcase our bold and contemporary spirit that drives positive change to build stronger communities for a liveable and sustainable city, taking care of all who live on our island, from nature to the community. Showcases of our food, culture and arts also nestle within the Pavilion, further piquing visitors’ interest in Singapore as a top-of-mind travel destination.”

The China Pavilion at Expo 2025 is themed “Building a Community of Life For Man and Nature.” Its design is inspired by Chinese calligraphy scrolls, reflecting the philosophy of living in harmony with nature. This aligns with the expo’s theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The pavilion emphasizes the importance of technological progress without harming the environment.

Cross over to the other side of the world by walking distance and experience the Italy Pavilion, a modern reimagining of the Renaissance’s Ideal City, designed by architect Mario Cucinella. The Italian pavilion at the Expo focuses on how art can enhance life. This theme reflects Italy’s belief in combining creativity and innovation to improve society. The pavilion will feature live events and exhibitions showcasing Italian products that blend modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. Inside, visitors will find an amphitheatre surrounded by modern pillars, symbolising Italy’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while embracing progress.
