There is great news for the Super Mario fans –– Super Nintendo World may open in Singapore soon with plans underway! This gives fans an opportunity to celebrate despite missing out on the opening of “Super Nintendo World” at Universal Studios Japan on 4 Feb 2021.
Super Mario creator and Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto reassured fans that there are plans to open Super Nintendo World in other countries as well.
Speculations of a Super Nintendo World in Singapore first came up in 2019. The more recent confirmation has revived interest in concretising such a plan!
Super Nintendo World may open in other countries
Nintendo released a video on YouTube on 18 Dec 2020 providing viewers with a virtual tour of Super Nintendo World in Japan. The video was hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto who took fans through the various theme park attractions.
He also said that there are ongoing discussions into opening Super Nintendo World in Hollywood, California, and Orlando, Florida in the United States and Singapore in Asia. These locations account for the four locations around the world that have Universal Studios Theme Parks.
When will the theme park in Singapore open?
An official opening date of Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is yet to be discussed and finalised.
The earlier plan announced by Resorts World Sentosa in 2019 was scheduled to open in 2025. This expansion plan included the introduction of two new attractions in USS, the Super Nintendo World, and the Minion Park.

We sure hope to see a Super Nintendo World in Singapore by 2025! It would make for a great addition to one of our most beloved amusement parks.
As of now, there is no timeline set for this opening. So in the meantime, we hope we can visit Japan soon enough and live our Super Mario dreams soon!
