Here’s another reason to visit Japan when travel resumes: Tokyo DisneySea’s expansion project is in the pipeline. Named ‘Fantasy Springs’, it is set to open to the public in 2023.
According to DisneyParks blog, this will be the largest ever themed port since the opening of the park. Rest assured, there would be plenty to look forward to!
Thanks to the new features in the making, guests will be able to immerse themselves in the extraordinary worlds of more Disney movies. Think of the likes of Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan’s “Neverland”. Sounds like a childhood dream come true, right?
The project costs an estimated ¥250 billion and will include the following latest additions:
- Four attractions
- Three restaurants
- A souvenir shop
- A luxury hotel

1. Frozen at Tokyo DisneySea
Do you want to build a snowman? Explore the magical kingdom of “Arendelle” inhabited by the sister duo Elsa and Anna. You can embark on a boat ride while enjoying soundtracks from the blockbuster. The immersive space is set upon the events in Frozen after it has opened its door to the rest of the world. Plus, it comprises a restaurant nestled at the foot of the mountain where guests can tuck into delicious treats.
2. Tangled at Tokyo DisneySea
Set foot into the mystical forest that houses Rapunzel’s tower. At this new attraction, you can also enjoy a ride onboard a gondola across a picturesque river. It will be reminiscent of Rapunzel and Flynn’s romantic interlude as they made their journey to the iconic Lantern Festival. There is also a restaurant in this new area that is inspired by the hideout of the humourous thugs.
3. Neverland at Tokyo DisneySea
At Neverland, you’ll never, never have to worry about grown-up things again. There will be two new attractions and a restaurant inspired by the Lost Boys hideout emerging in this area. At the first attraction, you can face Captain Hook head-on as you traverse the jungle of Neverland with Peterpan. At the second attraction, you can join Tinkerbell and her fairy friends as you explore the realms of Pixie Hollow.
4. Deluxe resort hotel at DisneySea
Those planning to live out their happily ever after at DisneySea can do so with the opening of a new deluxe resort hotel within the compound. Towering above the magical springs, it will boast 475 deluxe and luxury guest rooms. In addition to that, there will be two restaurants and a merchandise shop within the hotel.
