Is everyone ready to add another Universal Studios theme park to their bucket lists? Because Beijing, China is officially opening not only the fifth in the world, but also the largest Universal Studios theme park in Sep 2021. This one will be the third in Asia, after the Universal Studios parks in Singapore and Japan.

This Universal Studios theme park has been in the works for the past seven years. It was announced on 13 Oct 2014 with a budget of US$3.3 billion. As the largest Universal Studios theme park in the world, it will feature 21 attractions, including four roller coasters. Although the park has yet to make an official announcement of the complete list of attractions, it has released concept artworks for zones and rides.
What to see in the largest Universal Studios theme park
As of writing, Universal Studios Beijing has constructed seven themed zones: Hollywood Boulevard, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, WaterWorld, KungFu Panda Land of Awesomeness, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Transformers: Metrobase, and Minion Land. With the exception of WaterWorld and Hollywood Boulevard, all these themed zones have three to four rides dedicated to their respective franchises.
All these facilities are spread throughout 130 acres of land. With a theme park of this scale, Universal Studios will create approximately 40,000 new jobs. A soft opening of test operations was held on 1 Sept 2021, but the official sales start on 14 Sep 2021. China’s Universal Studios is slated to open to the public on 20 Sep 2021.
