Now that the temporary ride is coming to a close, another one enters the fray, but not at a theme park. Japanese Airline ANA is introducing the very first Demon Slayer airplane, officially called Demon Slayer Jet One!

Following the start of the second season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba on TV, ANA announced a collaboration with the creators of Demon Slayer to celebrate the most popular Japanese anime to date. The Demon Slayer Jet One’s design stands out from the typical Japanese character-themed planes.
On the left side of the Demon Slayer airplane, the leading characters Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are all rendered in their traditional anime design. The right side of the plane, on the other hand, features the manga sketch of Tajiro showing off his mystical water breathing sword slash. So whether you’re a bigger fan of the anime or manga, the jet can satisfy and work both ways!
Although the routes haven’t been announced yet, the Demon Slayer airplane will take its first flight in late Jan 2022. However, starting Dec 2021, ANA passengers on domestic flights will already be getting a teaser of the Demon Slayer airplane; the flight attendants are going to serve beverages in Demon Slayer cups to economy class passengers!

What’s more, the airline will be handing out menko. These are thick pieces of paper that Japanese children use to play a Pog-like game. These toys have 18 designs so children can make these Demon Slayer merchandise collector’s items. Think that’s all? According to Sora News, ANA will be “offering all 26 episodes of the first season of the Demon Slayer TV anime as part of their in-flight video programming, as well as a selection of music pieces from the anime’s original soundtrack and live orchestra concert in their audio programming.”

We would seriously sign up for this kind of service if only foreign tourists were already allowed to travel to Japan right now. But as of the moment, we’ll have to wait until news about the Demon Slayer airplane routes is released and when foreign tourists can enter Japan again.
