Before flying off to your much-awaited getaway in Malaysia, there’s a new step for travellers entering the country: the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). Foreign travellers are now required to fill out and submit the form prior to their arrival in Malaysia. That’s right: You’ll need to get this out of the way before leaving.
Don’t worry, though; even if this is an extra step before going on vacation, it’s not a hassle and won’t take too much time to complete. We’ve even put together an easy guide for travellers below. Keep reading to find out more about the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card!

What you need to know about the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card
It can be a challenge to keep track of everything you need to do. The good news is you won’t have to fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card until within three days before your arrival in Malaysia. Expect to provide personal information, including passport number, date of birth, citizenship, and contact details. Travel specifics must be provided, too, including the dates of arrival and departure, mode of travel, and last port of embarkation.
After submitting the registration form, check your email for the PIN from the official MDAC website. Return to the website to check your registration using the PIN you received. And that’s it! All that’s left to do is to download the file — you’ll have to present it with your passport at the immigration counter once you get to Malaysia.

Who’s exempted from MDAC?
Not all foreign travellers need to submit the Malaysia Digital Access Card, though: Singaporeans are exempted from this new travel requirement. Travellers with permanent residency in Malaysia and Malaysia Automated Clearance System holders won’t have to submit a MDAC for entry into the country either.
For everyone else? Yes, the Malaysia Digital Access Card must be filled out and submitted every time we travel to Malaysia.
