Travelling With Cash? New Online Cash Declaration Soon Required in Singapore

Planning a trip to Singapore? Starting 13 May 2024, all travellers entering or leaving the country with more than S$20,000 in cash or its equivalent in foreign currency will need to make an online cash declaration. This new policy aims to streamline the existing declaration process, making it simpler and more convenient for all travellers. Currently, travellers are expected to submit a cash declaration in hardcopy form.

What travellers need to know

The new online cash declaration in Singapore applies to travellers carrying more than S$20,000 in cash or its equivalent in foreign currencies. To process this, travellers can submit the electronic declaration via the MyICA mobile application or the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority’s (ICA) website. You can submit this up to three days before entering or leaving Singapore.
