Thailand just launched a game-changing visa specifically designed for remote workers and cultural enthusiasts: the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)!

This visa allows you to stay in Thailand for up to five years, a massive jump from the previous 60-day limit. Imagine working remotely while soaking up the sun on pristine beaches or exploring the bustling streets of Bangkok — all with the peace of mind knowing you can stay for the long haul.

Who can apply?

The DTV is open to a wider range of applicants than traditional digital nomad visas. Freelancers, remote workers, and even those interested in immersing themselves in Thai culture (think cooking classes or Muay Thai training) can all qualify.

What are the requirements?

There’s no minimum income requirement for the DTV, which is a big plus! However, you will need to show proof of savings of at least 500,000 Thai baht (around S$18351.84). There’s also a 10,000 Thai baht application fee (around S$364.34) and you must be at least 20 years old.

Things to keep in mind

The DTV visa isn’t without its limitations. You’ll need to leave and re-enter Thailand every 180 days, with an additional fee each time you do.

Depending on your nationality, you might be able to apply online through the official Thai e-visa website. Countries like the US, UK, and most of Europe are eligible for online applications. Otherwise, you’ll need to visit your local Thai embassy.
