The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey is Now Open in Johor Bahru

The Mall, Midvalley Southkey is South Malaysia’s largest integrated shopping mall and commercial development which opened only in late April 2019. You may find its name familiar – its sister mall is one of the most popular malls in Kuala Lumpur!

The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey is located a quick five minutes’ drive away from the JB Checkpoint (in good traffic conditions, that is!). While Johor Bahru is no doubt home to many malls, what differentiates it from its competition is its sheer size – a whopping 2.5 million square feet! Apart from retail and F&B shops, it’s also connected to a hotel and private residences, and hosts leisure activities as well.

Brand names galore!

There are hundreds of stores under this roof, including familiar names like Michael Kors and Coach.  Of course, there are also plenty of F&B options, from popular Malaysian brands like Lavender and HoMinSan, to family favourites such as Kenny Rogers. Pictured above is Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which appears to have gotten a hip identity upgrade here!

If you’re an – ahem – older Singaporean, you would be familiar with the name SOGO, a popular departmental store which closed down almost two decades ago. Good news: it has now found new life in our part of the region at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey. As a nod to its Japanese heritage, this three-level SOGO has adopted a sleek and minimal aesthetic. This would make perusing the shelves stocked with over 400 international and local brands a breeze!
