The route: from Aberdeen to Penzance

Starting in Aberdeen, the train travels south along Scotland’s dramatic east coast, with stops at Scottish hotspots like Dundee and Edinburgh. The route continues through the Yorkshire Dales, the Midlands, and major cities such as Newcastle, York, and Bristol. The final stretch along the South Devon Railway Sea Wall offers breathtaking views of the sea on one side and rolling hills on the other. The journey finally concludes in the seaside town of Penzance. A total of 36 stops are made throughout the ride.

The train departs once daily at 08:20 AM. Ticket bookings can be made on the CrossCountry train website. CrossCountry accepts railcards on most services, allowing savings of up to 1/3 on ticket prices.
