8. Jalan Jalan Japan

Jalan Jalan Japan is one of the biggest thrift retail stores in Malaysia, and you can spot its outlets not only around Kuala Lumpur but also in other states like Negeri Sembilan and Johor. In addition to clothing items, it is also home to other secondhand goods, such as daily household items, toys, and furniture pieces.

Personally, Jalan Jalan Japan is one of my favourite thrift shops in KL when it comes to shopping for affordable preloved clothes. Beyond the wide array of selections, the clothes are mostly well taken care of. For those travelling to winter destinations, there are also many winter wear options available here. What’s even better? The prices are incredibly reasonable, with some items going for as low as RM1 (~S$0.29).

9. 2nd STREET Bundle Shop

Another one of my recommendations for thrift shopping in KL is the 2nd STREET Bundle Shop. 2nd STREET has many outlets across the Klang Valley. Shopping in its stores is a pleasant experience, as all items — from bags and shoes to clothes — are meticulously arranged and colour-coordinated. Besides, most 2nd STREET outlets are very spacious.

Apart from purchasing, you can also give a new life to your preloved clothes, shoes, and bags at select outlets. This “Buy and Sell” program is available at their stores in Bangsar Baru, Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), and Bandar Utama. Participants of the program must be 18 years or older, and after the assessment of your items, you’ll receive a quotation. If you agree, they’ll pay you in cash on the spot!

10. JBR Bundle

For those looking for budget-friendly thrift shops in KL, don’t miss out on JBR Bundle. One of the most popular secondhand shops in the city, it offers more than just apparel, but also other things; such as household goods, toys, exclusive collectables, and books.

JBR Bundle boasts around nine outlets all across Klang Valley. These outlets are open daily, and some are even open as late as 12am. Having been to some of the JBR Bundle outlets, I liked how cheap the prices are. I once found a decent leather skirt that was priced at only RM5 (~S$1.44)! However, it’s worth noting that certain outlets may be quite humid and relatively cramped, so I suggest dressing more comfortably.

Opening hours:

  • 10am to 12am daily (Sri Damansara, Klang, Shah Alam, Balakong, Hulu Langat, and Kanchong outlets)
  • 10am to 10pm daily (Bangi, Subang USJ, and Banting outlets)

11. Family Bundle

Family Bundle is a local bundle retail store with branches in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and Perak. Here’s where you can discover reasonably priced used garments, from nice boots and cool backpacks to floral tops. The cost of the preloved goods here starts from only RM6.50 (~S$1.87), so there’s no doubt that it is one of the best thrift stores in KL for economical shoppers. Regular customers of Family Bundle also appreciate how they can always find branded items and vintage apparel here.

12. BLESS Shop (Kedai BLESS)

BLESS Shop (aka Kedai BLESS) is an OG secondhand store and social enterprise that was established in 1999. This KL thrift shop carries an assortment of preloved and new goods such as dresses, jewellery, books, and handbags.

As the name goes, BLESS Shop donates half of its profit (as well as several clothing and household items) to those in need, in the hope of blessing people and bringing a positive impact to the community. The shop also accepts clothing donations. It’s no doubt one of the best thrift stores in KL worthy of support!
