Netflix has released the first official images of its forthcoming live-action series adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, along with an announcement of its premiere date worldwide.
Based on the influential and cult-favourite 1998 anime series, Cowboy Bebop is a space Western that follows the misadventures of a scrappy, ragtag crew of bounty hunters in the year 2071. Led by Spike Spiegel, they chase down dangerous criminals across the galaxy and get into all kinds of scrapes as they attempt to run from the past.

Even Ein, the genetically enhanced corgi, makes an appearance.
Shinichirō Watanabe, who was the director for the original anime, serves as a consultant for the live-action series. Yoko Kanno, the composer behind the 1998 anime’s iconic soundtrack, scores the music for the television adaptation.
After suffering delays following John Cho’s knee injury on set, Cowboy Bebop finally wrapped filming and production in Mar 2021.
