Good news for fans of sports gear and activewear – Decathlon has opened a new outlet. And this will be their biggest and most innovative one yet! Enter Decathlon Orchard. Located at The Centrepoint, the outlet is also the brand’s first 2-storey duplex, and spans a total of 3,200 square metres. Among these firsts, it also features a wide variety of sporting goods, modern technological systems and Virtual Reality test zones that will redefine your Decathlon experience!
There’s a reason Decathlon Orchard takes up so much space: it offers more than 5,000 products across 60 sporting activities that are developed and manufactured in-house. These products include sporting apparel and equipment for both indoor and outdoor activities.
“This project was made possible thanks to the strong partnership with Frasers Property Singapore. This is a great location to be in and we are excited to bring sports closer to the heart of town and make sports accessible to even more Singaporeans.” said Nils Swolkien, Managing Director of Decathlon Singapore.
Immersive experience for informed purchases
One of the first things you’ll notice about Decathlon Orchard is that you can try out before buying something. Looking to get a tent for your next camping trip? Let Virtual Reality technology simulate the best option for you based on your needs. First-time campers will also delight in Decathlon’s award-winning two-seconds tent, which is super easy to set up.
You can also bring the store’s bicycles for a test ride in the designated test zone to ensure you leave with the ride that suits you best. Talk about making purchases you won’t regret later! There’s even an arcade style hoop game for you to test basketballs as well. Just make sure you don’t get too carried away trying to beat the high score.

Technology at your fingertips
Unlike the other four Decathlon stores in Singapore, Decathlon Orchard is big on technology and innovation. Upon entering the store, you may be greeted by robots patrolling the aisles. These service robots from PAL Robotics help to ensure stocks are replenished and maintained accurately. This allows staff members (the human ones) to focus on delivering personalised service to customers.
Decathlon Orchard will also be the first to use cashless check out here. The RFID Cashless Checkout system only requires you to place your shopping items into a bin, where it would check out all your items. Quick and fuss-free! No more waiting for the cashier to scan your items one by one. Shoppers can also make purchases on-the-go and collect their products in just 2 hours at any one of Decathlon’s 7 Click & Collect stores islandwide.
A New Sporting Journey Awaits
Just like the world of sports, shopping is also facing an evolution. This is especially crucial in a time when human contact is minimised while service gets more personalised. Decathlon checks both boxes as it serves up a whole new shopping experience where you can get what you need with the best information in the most efficient way.
