A great way to explore Taipei City is by bicycle. Did you know that Taipei is one of the most bicycle friendly-cities in Asia? With 112 kilometres of riverside cycle paths and 382 kilometres of urban bike lanes, the city is a heaven for cyclists. To top it off, the some of these cycling paths also come with amazing scenery.
Taipei also has a public bicycle service, YouBike, that is probably one of the most cost efficient ways of getting to anywhere in Taipei. At only NT 5 (SGD 0.22) for the first 30 minutes of rental, YouBike is a great transport option for budget-conscious travellers. Additionally, the rental process is fairly fuss-free – just register your Easy Card at the kiosk or online, tap your card at the kiosk and you are off! Need to figure out where to rent or return your bike? Go to the YouBike website and click on the tab “stations” to see the availability of bikes and lots.
