Why was Singapore chosen as a home port?
This development was brought about by a collaboration between Disney and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Singapore’s world-class infrastructure and strategic location make it an ideal port for Disney cruises to set sail. At the same time, a ship from Disney Cruise Line in Singapore will attract millions of foreign and domestic tourists, boosting revenue in the retail and hospitality sectors.
“This is a very exciting year for The Walt Disney Company — 2023 marks our 100th anniversary. As part of this, Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of experiences and products for Disney Parks. “We are incredibly excited to make Singapore the home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025.”

What will this new Disney Cruise ship be like?
The new ship that will depart from Singapore is to be the largest among Disney Cruise Line’s fleet. Weighing in at 208,000 gross tonnes, it can accommodate 6,000 guests and 2,300 crew members. Thankfully, the ship’s carbon footprint will be smaller than its massive size would suggest. It will be among the first in the cruise industry to run on green methanol, one of the lowest-emission fuels out there.
What can guests expect on the Disney Cruise Line?
On board Disney cruises, guests can enjoy activities for all ages and appearances of classic characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Disney princesses, and Marvel superheroes.
Ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet boast varied dining experiences, live shows, and water parks. These live shows include award-winning musicals and variety acts starring beloved Disney characters from Aladdin to Elsa and Anna.
Adults on Disney Cruises can look forward to romantic fine dining in adult-exclusive restaurants. They can also spend the evenings at onboard nightclubs and lounges. There, they can dance the night away or watch their favourite sports teams in action.
Children are provided with plenty of play spaces inspired by Disney storytelling in their exclusive youth club. Parents and children can spend the day together accompanied by real-life Disney friends. It is possible that the new ships will offer similar entertainment options.
