Doraemon will always be an unforgettable part of our childhood. Even after 50 years, Doraemon remains a beloved character amongst children in Japan and many other parts of the world!
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Japanese cultural icon, Seibu Railway Co. unveiled the eight-car Doraemon-Go train. The train is Doraemon-themed and contains images inspired by the character and the secret gadgets it uses!

Doraemon, an adorable robotic-cat character, travels from the 22nd century to help Nobita, an elementary schoolboy. He is also known for his pocket filled with gadgets and his love for Dora cakes!
His face is on the front of the blue-and-white Doraemon-Go train as well as on each door. Furthermore, images of Doraemon’s four-dimensional pocket are on the train seats as well. An ultra-fun way to search for those secret 22nd-century gadgets!

What’s more, the iconic “anywhere door” that teleports people to the places they wish to go is illustrated on the carriage connecting doors. Kikio Kitamura, head of the company, said, “we would like to give a dream to our passengers with the help of Doraemon”.

Doraemon is one of the most well-known cultural icons and its popularity has increasingly grown in countries around the world. In 2008, Doraemon was appointed as the first anime cultural ambassador by Japan’s ministry of foreign affairs.
As a part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, plenty of posters and videos of the movie Stand By Me 2 have been on display across the train. The film is a sequel to the 2014 Doraemon film Stand By Me and will release in Nov 2020.
