According to an announcement released by Ethiopian Airlines on 11 March 2019, the airline has made the decision to ground its entire Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet as a safety precaution, following its ET 302 tragedy which saw all 157 passengers and crew perish.
The fourth generation of the Boeing 737 was the same model involved in the Lion Air 610 accident in October last year, which resulted in 189 fatalities.
Ethiopian Airlines will release further information as soon as it is available on its website.
