What is the Free Singapore Tour?
Let’s look at the requirements that make you eligible for these free guided Singapore tours. First, you need to be a transit or a transfer passenger at Changi Airport with between a 5.5- to 24-hour layover.
Next, register yourself for the tour upon arrival (within the transit area). You can scan the QR codes at the Free Singapore Tour service counters located at Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 or make an early reservation via their online booking page. And that’s pretty much it!
TripZilla Tip: Bring your passport, boarding passes, and entry visa (if applicable) along with your tour booking confirmation to ease your registration process.
The multiple, daily, guided tours to choose from
There are three bus tours that will take you to famous landmarks and Insta-worthy spots around the city. And in addition to that is a walking tour itinerary to Jewel Changi Airport.
FYI — All of these curated itineraries run for 2.5 hours each. So, find the best one that sparks your interest and go for the:
1. Changi Precinct Tour
This tour takes you to the ambient Changi precinct. One of the destinations you should look forward to is the award-winning Tampines New Town which champions quality and affordable housing.
Not too far away is Tampines Central Park, which features some uniquely designed playgrounds. Afterwards, you’ll be taken to the area’s largest integrated community and lifestyle hub: Our Tampines Hub.
Other exciting stopovers include the Second World War archives at Changi Chapel & Museum, the quiet and peaceful Changi Village, as well as the pristine Changi Beach Park.
2. City Sights Tour
You’ll see modern-day Singapore when you embark on the City Sights Tour. Catch a brief glimpse of the country’s colonial past at City Hall and learn about its progressive growth and historical moments at Civic District.
As you get to the Jubilee Bridge, you’ll see the picturesque views of the Merlion and Marina Bay.
Next, marvel at the Avatar-like Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay before heading to Marina Bay Sands, which features a sprawling convention centre and the well-known ArtScience Museum.
3. Jewel Tour
This is the single walking tour we mentioned previously. Start your journey by viewing the soaring Changi Control Tower and later explore the Shiseido Forest Valley, which lets you enjoy the lush greenery in idyllic landscapes.
The next stopover is the HSBC Rain Vortex, an indoor waterfall that transforms into a stunning light-and-sound exhibit at night. Apart from that, you’ll also be able to sample some tasty local snacks from local heritage brands on this tour.
Next, learn about aviation technology at Changi Experience Studio; and finally, bring yourself to Canopy Park, Jewel’s recreational wonderland for travellers of all ages.
4. Heritage Tour
The Heritage Tour will only be available from June 2023 onwards. Nevertheless, it promises a fun-filled trip of Singapore’s history and culture in the most exciting ways possible. Some of the main highlights of this tour will include Kampong Glam, Chinatown, Bugis, and the Singapore River.
