Mammoth multinational technology company Google opens its first retail store in the world. Located in New York’s Chelsea neighbourhood, it is a permanent fixture in Google’s urban campus on 76 Ninth Avenue.
At the Google Store, you can get your hands on a plethora of products. From Pixel phones and Nest products to Fitbit devices and Pixelbooks, you will be able to see, experience, and test them in person before making purchases. Additionally, it will feature a range of third-party accessories on top of exclusive merchandise.
Moreover, with its click and collect strategy, you can shop online anytime and collect your orders at the brick-and-mortar store.

What awaits you at Google’s first retail store?
At the store, you will be able to observe how Google’s products and services work hand in hand through delightful immersions. Major parts of the retail stores are designed to replicate familiar environments — with various sections dedicated to product-specific experiences. Google refers to these areas as “imagination space” and “sandbox space,” where you can visualise how the different technologies seek to enhance daily life.
For instance, there is a room where you can utilise the hands-free control feature of Google Nest Nub to answer the door for a delivery person from a bedroom. You’ll have a better grasp of how the smart device can simplify different tasks through real-life stimulation.
In another section, you can capture detailed low-light photos by using the Night Sight technology of Pixel phones.
There is also an area highlighting Google’s Stadia cloud gaming service. You can stream high-quality games to a selection of phones, computers, and televisions. The best part: There is no need for a game console.
The store will also exhibit Google’s state-of-the-art technologies in a 17-foot-tall circular glass structure. One of such is the Google Translate experience, where you can utter a phrase while having it translated into 24 different languages in real-time.
