On Monday, 11 Nov 2024, a Spirit Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Port-au-Prince in Haiti was caught in a crossfire. Yes, you read that right. The plane was shot at! Spirit said in a statement that the plane had been damaged and taken out of commission upon landing in the northern Dominican city of Santiago. A flight attendant was injured in the incident. The Miami Herald had reported that the attendant was grazed by a bullet meanwhile no passengers were injured, Spirit added.
