Calling all Japan-lovers! The Japan Rail Cafe is expected to open at Tokyo Station on 5 March 2020. You can expect a platform for exclusive seasonal travel information and a space for like-minded travellers to interact. It is operated by East Japan Railway Co., which also opened the Japan Rail Cafe in Singapore in January 2017 with a similar concept.
Whether you’re looking to explore new exciting things to do in Japan, purchase Japan Rail Pass tickets, or just looking for fellow travellers, this is the place for you! With an interactive large screen, visitors are able to have virtual experiences of travel and receive travel information. If you wish to customize your trip to Japan, there is a Travel Information Counter at which you can consult the staff to plan your perfect itinerary. Other services available include purchasing of JR tickets and “Welcome Suica” IC cards for inbound tourists.
Besides, the cafe offers authentic Japanese food, served with a touch of the Japanese cultural experience for a gastronomic experience. You can anticipate a wide selection of Japanese food such as a set including traditional bar snacks and Japanese beef steak, and a green tea brewing set with Japanese sweets. Ebiken box lunches are also available for you to enjoy lunch on the go.
Japan Rail Cafe offers a multi-purpose platform for all things Japan-travel related — from seasonal travel information, to meeting people from around the world and sharing travel tips and stories. If you’re travelling to Japan soon, be sure to check it out!
