We had two full days in Kangaroo Island – from our 6am ferry to Penneshaw on the first day and a morning ferry back to Victor Harbour on the third day. It was way packed and hectic, but I’m glad we made full use of all the daylight we had.
But first, check out the video I’ve put together from our two days in Kangaroo Island. It’s basically a video version of this itinerary post! Enjoy and read on!
Day 1
From arriving on the island at 7am after an early ferry ride before dawn, we started our activities for the day immediately. A brief drive towards our accommodation brought us to the beautiful Pennington Bay and Prospect Hill, which were lovely sights to greet us with in the morning.
After lunch, we had a drive around, looking for a lavender farm (which we did find) and even had a brief hour to slide down the sand dunes at Little Sahara. We ticked off so many sights of Kangaroo Island within the first day! It was even more better that we did all of it without being in a rush – perks of a self-drive tour!

Coming from Singapore, a country so small that it only gets a little red dot on the world map, I was really expecting Kangaroo Island to be of a similar size. But not at all; Kangaroo Island is actually a good six times the size of Singapore! A drive from one end of the island to another can take over an hour.
Day 2
We spent the whole of our second day at the Flinders Chase National Park since it was over an hour’s drive from our resort. There were plenty of nature elements to discover within the park and we did ‘milk’ all the daylight we had there.
