HKTB Launches Marvels in Hong Kong to Showcase New Attractions in Hong Kong

We can't wait to go back to Hong Kong!

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Jakarta (HKETO Jakarta) launched “Marvels in Hong Kong”, a dedicated event celebrating the many charming facets of this world-renowned city.

On 24 Aug 2022, HKETO and Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) held a media launch ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to mark the official debut of the event. At the same time, guests were treated to a preview of the most recent developments in Hong Kong in the areas of art, culture, and tourism.

Present at the event was Mr. Law Kin-wai, the Director General of HKETO Jakarta. In his address, Mr. Law affirmed that Hong Kong is a highly international city, and not just in terms of trade and business. Mr. Law cited the development of the West Kowloon Cultural District, an emerging global arts and cultural hub, as an example of how Hong Kong appeals to its global audience.

In addition, the Regional Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board in Southeast Asia — Mr. Raymond Chan, also took the opportunity to tease those present at the event with the new infrastructure development and experiences in Hong Kong, expressing his wish to soon be able to welcome travellers back to the bustling city. 

Martin Gwee, who is HKTB’s Director, Marketing, then showed the audience glimpses of what to expect when quarantine-free travel to Hong Kong is possible, including new attractions like the M+ Museum, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Ocean Park Water World, the Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland, and more.

As part of efforts to highlight the new exciting experiences in Hong Kong, HKTB also invited local Malaysian celebrities and Hong Kong Super Fans, such as the popular actress, Koe Yeet,  radio DJ Jason Phang, and artist Fei Giap to the event to showcase Hong Kong’s many unique facets and to share what they love about Hong Kong.

Jason, who is himself an avid traveller and foodie, expressed how he missed Hong Kong’s Sham Shui Po district as well as the city’s signature Pineapple Buns. Koe Yeet, on the other hand, revealed how she loved to shop in Hong Kong whilst enjoying the bustling atmosphere.
