The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has announced that the main Merlion statue will be inaccessible for photos due to scheduled cleaning and maintenance works. However, visitors can still capture memorable moments with the smaller Merlion cub statue located nearby.

The Merlion, a beloved symbol of Singapore, has previously undergone repair works in 2023, requiring a closure of several months. This upcoming maintenance is expected to cause some inconvenience, and the STB has requested the public’s understanding during this period.

While the main statue is unavailable, visitors can still explore Merlion Park and enjoy the surrounding area. The STB has assured that travel agents and tour guides will be informed about the closure in advance.

The Merlion, unveiled in 1972 by the late Lee Kuan Yew, stands as a prominent landmark in Singapore, attracting tourists from around the world. It is a symbol of the nation’s journey from a fishing village to a thriving metropolis.
