Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a mermaid? And what exactly happens during space missions? This coming July, Genting Dream offers you a chance to finally seek answers to these very important questions.
Managed by Dream Cruises, Genting Dream is a luxurious cruise ship dedicated to providing the utmost comfort and enjoyment for its passengers. With its alluring array of dining, entertainment and recreational options, Genting Dream is the perfect choice for families seeking an exciting yet convenient getaway.
This summer, Genting Dream has one-up its cruise game with a jam-packed lineup of new and exciting activities and classes that you might not knew were even possible onboard! Here’s a sneak peek on the details:
Mermaid academy
Families will be treated to a slew of interesting and fascinating activities on-board. That’s right – this includes meeting a professional mermaid! Hailing from Germany, Mermaid Kat travels around the world to swim alongside sea creatures like dolphins, whales and even sharks. She also established the world’s first Mermaid Academy in 2012.
Children will get to don their own mermaid tails and attend workshops run by Mermaid Kat, where they will learn underwater movement techniques. Be sure to attend her live demonstrations as well as her captivating talks about the environment and her journey to becoming a professional mermaid. Furthermore, families can get a chance to have photos taken with Mermaid Kat as well, so don’t forget to bring your smiles along!
*This activity is only available on 2–7 July, 9–14 July, 16–21 July, and 23–28 July.
NASA Space academy
But if you’re not interested in exploring the ocean, perhaps you’d want to know more about the outer space! Formerly a NASA astronaut, Dr. Leroy Chiao was the first Asian-American commander of the International Space Station. He will be sharing his insights on space exploration and also incredible stories of his voyages in space. This will certainly be an enthralling experience for both kids and parents alike!
There will be an interactive space camp for families to join, and children can also attend exciting workshops where they will get to design their own spacesuits, create their own galaxies and even design their own aliens. Sounds like fun? You bet!
*This activity is only available on 30 July–4 August and 6–11 August.
Other classes and activities onboard
But wait, there’s more!
Other than meeting mermaids and learning more about space, children can also join the Little Dreamers programme* and partake in a creative art workshop, a stargazing party, dress-up parties and many more. Registration for the programme will open on 16 June, so don’t forget to sign your little ones up for them to enjoy special birthday surprises and other exclusive privileges.
If not, get your kids to participate in Reach for the Stars**, the new junior talent show on-board. Whether it’s singing, dancing, acrobatics or playing musical instruments, Reach for the Stars encourages children to showcase their many different talents. The final winner will get a five-night cruise in a Dream Palace suite good for four people, and even get a chance to be a guest performer at one of the shows.
*The Little Dreamers programme is only available from 16 June–1 September.
**Reach for the Stars is only available from 16 July–31 December and on designated dates only.
Fireworks at Sea
To top it all off, families and guests can look forward to a dazzling display of colourful fireworks illuminating the night sky. This is also the first and only fireworks display of its kind in Asia! So what are you waiting for? It’s time to head off for an extraordinary family vacation! Ship ahoy, all aboard the Genting Dream!
