MFA: Singaporeans Should Avoid Non-Essential Travel to North Korea

In light of recent North Korean nuclear tests, Singaporeans are advised to take caution and halt non-essential travels to North Korea for now.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has just rolled out a travel advisory recommending Singaporeans to avoid all non-essential travel to North Korea.

In their website, they stated that Singapore has no diplomatic representation in North Korea, which limits their ability to provide consular assistance to Singaporeans there.

This news comes in light of North Korea’s nuclear test last Sunday, which the country claims to be a hydrogen bomb meant for missiles. This was North Korea’s sixth nuclear weapons test, and the most powerful yet, yielding an explosion that caused tremors felt as far as South Korea and China.
