Starting 16 Dec, travellers passing through the Tuas Checkpoint can say goodbye to fumbling for their passports. The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) is rolling out QR code clearance at automated and special assistance lanes in the bus hall. In other words, Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders can simply scan a QR code and breeze through immigration.
However, this isn’t just limited to Tuas Checkpoint. Woodlands Checkpoint is next in line! According to the ICA, this convenient system will be implemented at Woodlands Checkpoint by mid-January 2025.
