Kamchatka ice cave is so surreal that you wouldn’t think it can be seen anywhere on earth. Found in the far east peninsula of Kamchatka in Russia, this stunning ice cave is near the active Mutnovsky volcano. A stream flows beneath the glacial fields at the bottom of the volcano and the melting glacier allows sunlight to pass through creating a spectacle of colours inside the cave.

Due to the possible danger of volcanic eruptions and the treacherous terrain, the cave was off-limits to the public until 1991. Explorers, navigators and even tourists may now visit the ice cave which intriguingly looks like the entrance to the underworld.
