By looking at the architectural style, you may have guessed this is a cathedral or a museum but it isn’t. Unlike the railway stations you commonly see around, this one in Moscow is quite exceptional.
Named after the nearby Kiyevsky Rail Terminal, Kiyevskaya Station of the Koltsevaya Line, is a Moscow Metro station in the Dorogomilovo District, Western Administrative Okrug in Moscow, Russia. It sure functions as a normal railway station but when you try to examine closely, you’d be fascinated by the intricate gold-coloured edgings on the arches and the interesting stories of the mosaics on the walls. The station’s impressive design was chosen from an open competition in Ukraine where the team of E. I. Katonin, V. K. Skugarev, and G. E. Golubev won the first place.
If you’re visiting Moscow, you don’t have to look further because several of its metro stations, like Kiyevskaya Station, already serve as open attractions for visitors. Now, you don’t have to spend much just to visit a stunning architectural masterpiece.
Don’t miss this impressive railway station when you visit Moscow, Russia.
