Within the distanced province of Yen Bai, Vietnam lies a rural district with an extensive terrace of rice field known as Mu Cang Chai. These rice fields occupy the bottom of a hill and slides upwards along the curve of the steep hill. The rice fields lies among the rugged green mountain valleys, creating a beautifully-crafted layering of an early summer field from afar.
The scenery is a major attraction for photographers and trekkers.
To catch the best scenery, visit Mu Cang Chai during its harvesting months between September and October. You can also witnessed their annual cultural week from 26 to 29 September that celebrates Vietnam’s ex-President, Ho Chi Minh’s visit to the district.
