There will now be one more airline that flies to London and Australia from Singapore starting March 2018.
Qantas today announced that it will resume its daily Sydney–London service via Singapore, after having Dubai instead of Singapore as a stopover for the last five years.
Since April 2013, Qantas has operated its Sydney–London and Melbourne–London services with Dubai as a stopover, as part of a 10-year alliance with Emirates. However, the flight from Sydney will be re-routed to operate via Singapore, while a new Melbourne-Perth-London service will also be launched.
As of March 2018, Qantas will operate 49 weekly services in total to Australia and London from Singapore with a total of over 17,600 one-way seats each week. Qantas will also increase the number of Melbourne–Singapore flights on a bigger A380 instead of A330.
According to Qantas, this comes in light of growing demand for this route in the region, and also to give customers a greater choice of services, aircrafts and cabins.
