KL Sentral is usually a busy transit hub with people coming and going, but it should definitely be considered as a permanent home base. Here’s why.

KL Sentral is an integrated rail transportation area, with daily trains leaving to all corners of the country and even to Thailand and Singapore. LRT, KTM Komuter, and Monorail lines can be found here with different train companies having their own ticket offices and information desks. Annually, a total number of more than 50 million people visit KL Sentral and transportation is just a part of it; Stesen Sentral is a massive, multifaceted spot that is more than Malaysia’s largest transit hub.

In KL Sentral, you’ll find plenty of spots where shoppers can hunt for high-quality products and more. The newest shopping plaza in the area, NU Sentral Mall has large green rooftops and is connected to KL Sentral. This shopping mall has more than 220 shops, a cinema, restaurants, supermarkets and jewellery outlets. Right outside, you can find Little India, another place where you can shop for items.

Finding food is always easy

Cultures come together in this place where about 160,000 commuters can be found daily, making it a great spot to chow down on an awesome array of culinary delights. Shoppers will find a variety of eateries situated within NU Sentral itself, with restaurants and cafes like Coffee Planet, Wesria Food Court, Sushi Tei, Starbucks and more. Delicious local fare can also be found in NU Sentral’s food court.

Entertainment options abound

KL Sentral is home to Breakout which offers reality escape gaming experiences through themed rooms. Two to eight players can take part in this escape game which includes real-time role-playing strategies. Located in NU Sentral, each room can feature its own tasks and storyline with different scenarios.

It is also near the Lake Gardens area where the Butterfly Park, Orchid Garden and the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park which is home to over 3,000 birds. The National Planetarium (where you can find a mock-up of the inside of the International Space Station) is also nearby. The National Museum and the National Mosque Kuala Lumpur are also reachable on foot.

Because KL Sentral is so central, you can even grab transportation to enjoy white water rafting at Sungai Selangor just an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur.

As mentioned, the KTM Komuter, the Rapid KL LRT system, KLIA Express, the KTM Intercity and the KLIA transit can be accessed from here. The KTM Komuter links the suburban towns of Rawang, Sentul, Port Klang, and Seremban. The Rapid KL LRT system functions to link the major points within KL from Gombak to Lembah Subang. KLIA Express is a fast and direct link to KLIA.
