Scoot’s Highly Anticipated Embraer E190-E2 Jets To Serve Flights From May 2024

The airline's new Embraer E190-E2 fleet will serve new stops in Thailand and Malaysia, as well as existing destinations.

Starting May 2024, Scoot will offer flights from Singapore to six destinations in Southeast Asia using its new fleet of Embraer E190-E2 planes. Scoot, which is the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is the launch customer of the E2 family of Embraer jets.

The E190-E2 aircraft boasts quieter engines, better fuel efficiency, and a unique 2×2 seating configuration that allows passengers to choose either window or aisle seats. It can carry up to 112 passengers and will be the smallest aircraft in Scoot’s fleet.

The six destinations include new stops Koh Samui in Thailand and Sibu in Malaysia, as well as existing stops Hat Yai and Krabi in Thailand, and Kuantan and Miri in Malaysia. The new flights to Koh Samui and Sibu will increase Scoot’s flight network from 67 to 69 destinations.

The first E190-E2 aircrafts will be used for Scoot’s existing flights to Hat Yai and Krabi starting May 7 2024. This will increase flight frequencies to both stops from seven to 10 times per week.

Flights to Krabi, Hat Yai, Koh Samui, and Miri will be available from May, while flights to Kuantan and Sibu will start from June. By June, Scoot will offer 103 flights to Malaysia and 92 flights to Thailand on a weekly basis.

By the end of 2024, Scoot is set to use five Embraer E190-E2 planes for its flights. And by the end of 2025, four more E190-E2 planes will be added to Scoot’s fleet.

Scoot’s Embraer E190-E2 flights will be made progressively available for booking on Scoot’s website, Scoot’s mobile app, and on other sites. Economy class flight fares start from S$172 to Koh Samui and S$72 to Sibu.

As the airline seeks growth, Scoot plans to add three to five more new destinations in Southeast Asia in the coming year, which will be served by its new fleet of Embraer E190-E2 planes.
