Sentosa Launches New Accessible Beach Track and Disability-Led Tours

An inclusive environment for everyone!

Sentosa Island is working to be a more inclusive and accessible tourist spot, introducing an accessible beach track and a series of tours led by individuals with disabilities. This move is part of the Sentosa Development Corporation’s (SDC) broader vision to ensure that all visitors, regardless of their physical abilities, can fully enjoy the island’s attractions.

Setting new standards for accessibility

SDC mentioned that “these innovative initiatives are designed to enhance the visitor experience for everyone, regardless of physical ability or mobility challenges, and to set a new standard for accessibility in tourism.” The SDC’s efforts reflect a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all, positioning Sentosa as a pioneer in inclusive tourism.

Providing an inclusive experience for all visitors

A key feature of this initiative is the newly installed 23-meter-long beach track at Siloso Beach. A new slip-resistant walkway stretching from Emerald Pavilion across the beach provides easy access for everyone, including those with mobility challenges. The path includes accessible restrooms and other amenities for a comfortable experience.

Trial period and things to do

The accessible beach track will undergo a trial period until 31 Oct 2024. This trial is an opportunity to gather feedback and make any necessary adjustments to improve the experience for visitors.

In addition to the beach track, Sentosa offers a variety of activities on its beaches to cater to people of various needs. Notably, the stand-up paddling program at Ola Beach Club is specifically designed for persons with autism, demonstrating Sentosa’s dedication to catering to diverse needs.

Complementing the accessible beach track is the
