Public transport fare increases
Adult passengers will pay S$0.10 more per trip for bus and train rides. Meanwhile, concessionary passengers — including seniors, students, people with disabilities, and low-wage workers — will see an increase of S$0.04 per ride. If you’re using cash to pay for bus fares or relying on monthly travel passes, good news — these costs remain unchanged.
Ride-hailing operators to raise platform fees in 2025
From 1 Jan 2025, ride-hailing platforms Grab, Gojek, Tada, and ComfortDelGro’s CDG Zig will increase platform fees, citing additional costs from the Platform Workers Act. This law mandates enhanced CPF contributions and injury compensation insurance for platform workers, driving fee adjustments across the sector.
Key changes include:
- Grab: Platform fee rises by S$0.20, from S$0.70 to S$0.90 per trip.
- Gojek: Platform fee increases by S$0.30, with fees ranging from S$0.90 to S$1.50 per trip.
- Tada: Platform fee increases by S$0.50 (before GST), resulting in a range of S$1.05 to S$1.25 per trip.
- ComfortDelGro: Platform fee changes from a flat S$0.70 to a range of S$1 to S$1.20, depending on distance and duration of ride.
