SO Sofitel Singapore Introduces Augmented Reality to Guests & We Say It’s Absolutely Genius

SO Sofitel Singapore has taken its staycation game (quite literally) out of the box by introducing smart glasses to enhance guest experience through augmented reality, making it the first hotel in Southeast Asia to do so.

SO Sofitel Singapore and EPSON have collaborated to pilot this ingenious initiative, using the Moverio BT-300 smart glasses. Guests can embark on an audio-visual adventure, SO Augmented, within the French luxury boutique hotel’s lobby (for public) and So Lofty suite (for those staying in the room).

Wearing the Moverio, guests can discover the whimsical secrets within the luxurious space of SO Sofitel Singapore’s So Lofty suite and hotel lobby’s ‘The Lion’s Seal’ emblem. Activating a layer of graphical information and audio narration emerged through the smart glasses, the inspiration of SO Sofitel Singapore’s beautiful design will be revealed – a story of French elegance blending with the building’s unique history, and modern Singapore chic.

Members of the public who wish to enjoy the SO Augmented hotel lobby tour can check directly with the Guest Relations Officers, with sets subject to availability. Guests who stay in the designated So Lofty suite for the pilot project can experience the SO Augmented room tour as well.
