If you are naturally drawn to beautiful flowers, we’ve got some good news for you! Taipei’s Parks and Street Lights Office has released a statement saying that cherry blossoms, commonly known as sakura, have started to bloom at Lohas Park in Taipei’s Neihu District.

The sakura groves at Lohas Park are especially romantic because they’re situated along the quiet Neigou River. With the help of the LED lights that illuminate the sakura trees, passers-by get to see intricate details of Cold Cherry blossoms even in the dark. Think of how dreamy it would be to walk amidst these flowery trees with your significant other on this month of love!
And if you’re single, grab your friends so you can take as many Instagram-worthy photos as you’d like! White, pink, and crimson coloured sakura flourish throughout the district, and they will continue to do so until early to mid-March. Until then, locals and travellers will be able to join daily activities at the park such as a screening of Aladdin, lantern festivals, and a variety of games, to appreciate this colourful spectacle more meaningfully.
To guide your sakura viewing, try following the three-kilometre cherry blossom trail along Neigou River, or the beautiful sight of Showa Sakura on the Lekang Trail, and the Formosa Sakura on the Firefly Trail. Do note that only the Cold and the Double Cherry blossoms are lit at night.
