Back from your short escapade to Taiwan and already missing the delicious street cuisine? Put down your passport, there’s no need for yet another long flight just yet – the Ningxia Night Market is coming to you instead!
Expect to see around 30 food stalls plucked right from Taiwan’s famous Ningxia Night Market at Sentosa’s Siloso Point of all places. Starting on the 16th of January, you can satisfy your cravings for authentic Taiwanese fare in the first edition of the Asian Night Market: Taiwan Food Festival.
For the foodies: you can look forward to savoring everything from flaming beef cubes and Taiwanese oyster omelettes to crispy salted chicken and the famous beef noodles whipped up by the renowned Taiwanese chef Cheng Cheng Chung! Don’t miss the Taiwanese sausages on glutinous rice from the pop singer Tsai Hsiao-Hu too.
Aside from all the food you can manage to stuff yourself with, catch performances by Singapore’s local stars like Wang Weiliang, Bunz, Ruth Kueo, Tay Kexin, Cold Cut Duo, Marcus Lee, AnchorBlanc, Jumpstart, Music Heart Band, and Garrick & Gavin, as they belt out your favorite Mandopop tunes while you sit back and munch on your goodies.
For the more actively inclined, there will also be carnival rides and game stalls. Yes, the games are supposedly meant for a young audience, but hey, grab a like-minded buddy or two and have a blast anyhow!
So, when the date rolls around, be sure to head down to Siloso Beach for an abridged experience of one of the most prominent night markets in Taiwan!
