As if we needed another reason to visit Bangkok, the Thai capital has added another shopping venue to its already long and celebrated list. The Market Bangkok, which opened in February 2019, is six floors of retail therapy heaven.
Located in Ratchprasong and near the Chit Lom BTS station, it boasts an everything-under-one-roof concept – this means you can shop, eat and then even recharge with a massage without leaving the mall. Talk about a captive audience!
Market-like concept
Of course, that’s not quite enough to differentiate itself from the many malls in Bangkok. To do so, The Market Bangkok has got a few tricks up its sleeves. Eschewing the usual shop space layout, The Market Bangkok wants to live up to its namesake – just like a traditional outdoor market, there are no brick and mortar storefronts here, only stalls. This makes browsing seamless, and you certainly won’t feel claustrophobic here.
More than 1,000 shops
You’d be hard-pressed to not find something you like here! There are two floors dedicated to blog shops, but it’s not just a buffet for fashion lovers here.
There are also shops hawking homeware – clever homeowners will know to get their furnishings here, where it’s definitely going to be a bargain!
Eat, drink, shop, repeat
Why venture out to grab a bite in the stifling urban heat when you can dine in comfort in the mall? The options are endless, and it includes popular brands like After You Dessert Cafe.
There’s also a Domo-Kun Cafe where you can load up on Domo-Kun merch while savouring their popular soft serve ice cream.
And yes, there’s a food court too – an entire level of it, to be exact.
Get those tired feet rubbed
When in Thailand, one must not fail to get a massage. We totally understand the need to get a good rub-down after all that walking, and you can get just that at the Let’s Relax spa on the fourth storey. It certainly looks less dodgy than the dinghy parlours by the street!
