Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea park tickets are cheaper than those at U.S. parks, costing around $55 to $65 for a 1-day ticket due to the weak yen. This is significantly less expensive than the cheapest tickets to Walt Disney World or Disneyland.

Park tickets can be purchased at Disney Stores in Japan and at Lawson or Family Mart convenience stores. Tickets bought at Disney Stores are full price, offering the convenience of purchasing them during your trip but before arriving at Tokyo Disney Resort. Lawson and Family Mart occasionally offer discounted tickets during the off-season, typically reducing the price of 1-2 day tickets by less than $10. These discounted tickets are available at self-service kiosks in Japanese, which may be challenging to navigate if you don’t speak the language.

There are a couple of partial day tickets, ‘After 6‘ and ‘Starlight Passport,’ that might be appealing. The ‘After 6’ ticket is a discounted option available after 6 p.m. on weekdays (excluding National Holidays). The ‘Starlight Passport’ allows entry after 3 p.m. on weekends and National Holidays. They are useful for extending your visit if you arrive on a Sunday afternoon and want to get into the park before your main days of exploration.

Both physical and digital copies of these documents are accepted. However, children below 12 years old are not required to submit if they’re visiting with a parent or guardian.

In addition, with the introduction of Fantasy Springs, a new ticket type called the 1-Day Passport: Fantasy Springs Magic is available. This ticket offers exclusive access to Fantasy Springs without needing a Standby Pass or Disney Premier Access and allows access to the rest of Tokyo DisneySea. It can be purchased by guests staying at the Fantasy Springs Hotel or those using eligible Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Packages. Although more expensive than regular 1-day tickets, the exclusive access to Fantasy Springs makes it worthwhile for those already spending on the Fantasy Springs Hotel or a Vacation Package.

Availability of Multi-day tickets and Annual Passes

The biggest issue at Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR) is ongoing staffing shortages, affecting many aspects of operations, including theme park tickets for Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. Currently, only single-day tickets, including various late-arrival passports, are being sold, all date-based with pricing varying by projected demand. Multi-day tickets and Annual Passes are not available as TDR limits capacity, anticipating more pent-up demand. While multi-day ticket sales are expected to resume in 2024, the exact timing is uncertain.

Credit cards issued outside of Japan may be declined

Many U.S. credit cards (and potentially those from other countries) do not work on the Tokyo Disney Resort website due to the requirement for 3-D Secure Authentication, such as Verified by Visa or American Express SafeKey. This service may require you to enter a password registered with your card company, designed to prevent fraudulent use when making online reservations and ticket purchases on the Tokyo Disney Resort website.

We highly recommend purchasing Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea tickets in advance from Klook. While the prices are the same as buying directly from Tokyo Disney Resort, the advantage is that Klook accepts credit cards from beyond Japan, unlike the Tokyo Disney Resort website.
