1. Home by Tales of Paws

At Home by Tales of Paws, you don’t need to choose between dogs or cats! The first floor is home to over 20 energetic dogs while the second floor houses over 30 breeds of calmer felines. There is no lack of photo opportunities here! After taking all the pictures with your newly found furry friends, head to the cafe (separate from the dogs and cats for hygiene reasons) and feast on tarts, drinks, and even main dishes! Some items to look out for are their Spaghetti Tom Yam Kung, Ice Blended Yuzu and Genmaicha Mille Crepe!

2. Chucky Cat Cafe

Chucky Cat Cafe, located in Komtar Mall, is the purrfect spot for your day trip. You can easily swing by this cat cafe without straying too far from your mall activities. The cafe has a variety of drinks, macarons and croffles but beware- you may have some feline company eyeing your treats! 

If the furry ones win your heart over, choose between wet and dry cat snacks to satisfy their appetite. And here’s a quirky twist: the cafe also keeps a few geckos as pets!

3. Chill N Chow Cafe by Ng Kitchen

If you wish to fill your hug meter, Chill N Chow Cafe is just the place for you. Play with the fluffiest Chow Chows Mochi, Pudding, Donut, Latte & Waffle as they run or laze around. Tickets for one hour access to the Chow Chow play area cost around S$4.30 (RM15) on weekdays and S$5.70 (RM20) on weekends. 

You may start feeling peckish after playing with them but fret not, all tickets come with a complimentary scoop of coconut ice cream. Mushroom Pies, Croissants, and other desserts are also available in the cafe. Should the Chow Chows really work up an appetite, there is a restaurant conveniently located one floor below by the same owners. It boasts an extensive menu of fusion Western cuisine. Do check out their Ng Recipe pasta which is a creamy spaghetti topped with teriyaki salmon or their soft shell crab burger which comes with a side of onion rings!

4. Kafuka Cafe & Music Studio

As the name suggests, Kafuka is both a cafe and a music studio. The Chinese orchestra instruments in the music studio are not just for display as they conduct lessons. This musical haven is home to three delightful cats, adding to its cozy and inviting atmosphere. 

Spend a relaxing afternoon trying their highly-rated dishes and cakes. While this may not be like other bustling cat cafes, its charm lies in the owners staying true to their passions and creating a space where their love for music, cats, and food shines through.

5. Meow Me Cat House

Note that Meow Me Cat House is a cat-friendly cafe and not a typical cat cafe. The difference? Cat cafes sell the interaction with their cats but this place simply provides a serene environment with their cats as part of the ambiance. So don’t expect to feed or be actively entertained by these cats. Enjoy their fruit tarts and coffee as you relax in the calming presence of the cats.

6. As Clouds Cafe

As Clouds Cafe has something that Singapore doesn’t– alpacas! Come and snag a picture with these 2 friendly ones. Each table gets a cup of free carrots to feed to the alpacas. Be alert or they may gobble your unattended carrots in no time! They serve both Western and Japanese cuisine so you can expect to share pizzas or katsu curry dishes.

Down the street from Chill N Chow is the charming Shiba Cafe! Find not just Shibas but a Border Collie, Samoyed and other breeds. The menu may offer a limited selection of items but it is good enough for a meal. Choose between their Japanese curry rice, saba, and sanma fish sets. They also have some Japanese side dishes such as chuka idako and edamame.
