We often pay attention to celebrities either because of yet another scandal or let’s face it, they look PERFECT… well most of the time. How do they manage to look so good even when they are travelling on their press tours or just on a holiday? Look and learn young padawan.

Travel in style – not like a tramp
When it comes to air travel, many people still seem to think they need to wear their pyjamas to be comfortable. At least that’s what it looks like. I understand that you want to feel comfortable, but you don’t have to dress up in pink sweatpants and walk around with you neck pillow all through the airport.
If you feel like wearing stretchy pants and sweaters, then go for the all-black look. None of it has to be designer wear. Comfy black elegance even prevails in the plane and will have you lookin’ EXTRA FLY. The American model Kendall Jenner swears by this look.
Sunglasses! Sunglasses! Sunglasses!
So, you’ve been on a plane for 13 hours straight, perhaps without sleep, you look like hell froze over. What do you do? Easy! Strap on the sunnies and you shield the world from your puffy eyes. No one needs to see that much red in the daytime. While most celebrities wear sunglasses in order not to be spotted, they also help you to maintain a fresh look and disguise your tiredness.
Travel Light, Cos Bulk is UGLY
If you’re honest to yourself, there’s a limited amount of stuff you’ll need on a short trip and especially on a plane ride. Minimise the amount of stuff you carry with you. When it comes to your carry-on luggage, you really should be able to reduce everything to handbag-size. Once you have packed, you should always go through everything again and get rid off half the stuff – because you’re not going to need it! Travel documents, wallet, phone, some hygienic products and a book – that’s all you can use on a flight. Why carry more around the airport? Most celebrities are smart in that way. As they don’t want to be seen carrying all sorts of stuff around, they never have more than a handbag. The same counts for your city trips or weekend getaways. Most of the time your hotel will give you half the stuff you are carrying.

Unpack and Settle In
When travelling, we often don’t take enough time to establish comfort for ourselves. As you are probably not travelling with much luggage, you should always unpack when you arrive at the hotel. Many celebrities, such as Christina Applegate, travel a lot and therefore spend more time in hotels than at their own home. Unpacking when arriving in your hotel room has the benefit that you will feel instantly more settled. Most hotel rooms have more than enough space for the few items you have in your suitcase.
Turn up the Versatility
Should you be going on a longer trip, you might have to very well consider what you are carrying with you. The fashion journalist Nina Garcia, who is a celebrity in her own right, recommends picking clothes that are versatile and combine well with others. As black matches very well with many other accessories, it is always a good pick for your travel. Following her Instagram (@ninagarcia), you see many examples of how she prepares for a trip, such as with black and gold clothes only.
Two Thin is Better Than One Thick
If you tend to pack too much every time you go on a trip, then you should take on the following tip. Due to luggage constraints, you need to think carefully about what to take on your journey. The key here is variety. Don’t take the thickest sweater, but perhaps two thin ones. (Layering is more effective to keep out the cold due to the air trapped in between the layers.) The same holds for shoes. Don’t pack these trendy but bulky sneakers, but take instead smaller and more elegant pairs. Spanish shoes are usually perfect for travelling, as they are light, small and look fabulous while being elegant at the same time. Eva Chen shows you how (@evachen212).
Leave Some Room, You KNOW You’re Going to Shop
I am sure you’ve had this problem before. You went on a trip with a perfectly packed suitcase, but when the time to depart came you were suddenly confronted with a big problem – shopping. Especially when you go on city trips, it is almost inevitable that you are going to buy something – be it clothes or some presents for your friends at home. So pack wisely and anticipate that you will shop, even though you tell yourself that you won’t. You know as well as I do that that’s a lie.

Find a Luggage You Can Trust
While many celebrities travel with Louis Vuitton and Chanel suitcases and travel bags, you don’t need to spend that much (if you don’t want to). However, there is a lesson to be learned here. These suitcases are not only popular amongst celebrities because they are high-fashion brands, but because they are functional and easy to travel with. So get a good suitcase or bag that allows you to access everything easily.
I often encounter travellers at the airport (and many other places) with carry-on luggage (often a backpack) that is totally stuffed. You will have a hard time finding anything in there. If you don’t need it, then simply don’t bring it.
