Why Japan?
According to Aw Wanping, the chief executive of a Tokyo-based travel agency, travelling from Singapore to Japan is popular among Singaporeans looking to experience a shift in seasons. She cites spring and winter as the “peak seasons” for Singaporean travellers, saying “They [Singaporeans] like cherry blossoms and snow a lot.”
However, Aw acknowledges the confusion regarding Japan’s travel rules, which require travellers to be part of “package tours”. This suggests the need for travellers to travel in a large tour group.
Solo travellers need not fear! Having made arrangements for three solo travellers, she clarifies that “package tours” do not require you to join a group.
